This program is tailored for international students who are interested
in learning Chinese on their own schedule students can begin
throughout the year and students have the flexibility to decide the
length of their
course. Students will
study Chinese
in the mornings. In the afternoons, outside of
learning hours, students are free to explore Kunming on their own, maybe
teach English part-time to earn money, or to volunteer through a Beyond
Borders program.

Program Description
Program:
Week-by-Week Chinese Language Program
Class Length: From one week to one year. A minimum
of one week is required.
Class Hours: Four hours of classes in the mornings
per day, Monday-Thursday, and two optional hours of one-on-one tutorials
in the afternoons.
Description: Classes for beginners begin on the
first Monday of every month. Intermediate and advanced students can feel
free to join the first Monday of any week. Classes are held for four
hours per day, Monday-Thursday. We also offer one-on-one tutoring sessions
after class for an additional two hours a day.
In this program, students will study Mandarin, including
pinyin, tones, pronunciation and so on. Students themselves can decide
how long to study. Students can choose courses according to their
schedules.
Extracurricular activities are arranged besides Chinese language
learning with the purpose of helping students deepen their cultural
understanding and making
Chinese learning more interesting and fun.
Our program is divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate and
advanced. Students will be given a placement test to assess their
knowledge of Mandarin on their first day. The placement test will
evaluate the students skill levels and place them in the correct class.

Accommodations
We have carefully selected accommodations for students. They will be in
apartments which which are safe, quiet and comfortable and a short walk
from the school. Students can choose to stay alone or share an
apartment. Students can also choose comfortable homestay with a local
family. Program fees vary according to the accommodation selected.
Accommodation starts the day before the program and ends the day after
the program.

Enrollment
In this
school, we enroll all levels beginner through expert. Enrollment for
beginners begins on the first Monday of every month. Enrollment for more
advanced students begins each Monday. On your first Monday, you are
expected in school one hour early (at 8:00 AM, instead of 9:00 AM) to take
a placement test
on that Monday.
